About
NYC Global Center
NYC Global Center was established in 2024 by a team of excellent educators. From the beginning, it was clear that a large number of students needed to improve both their spoken and written, English-language skills. To meet this need, NYC made the transition from being a preparatory school to become an institute for English as a Second Language.
NYC Global Center is now located in a newly-renovated, facility in Chelsea, New York, offering a comprehensive program of communicative, English-language courses at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels to serve the needs of English language learners.
Our Faculty
We are staffed by educators from renowned academic institutions and have extensive expertise in professional language-related fields. They create the perfect learning atmosphere by bringing the successful teaching strategies and educational values, supporting students' language and personal growth.

Global ESL Educator
Kat Christensen
Kat hails from Clifton Park, a historic gem nestled between Albany, the capital of New York, and Saratoga Springs, famous for its horse racing and Revolutionary War history. With a Bachelor’s degree in Asian Studies and History and TESL/TESOL certifications, she’s traveled to 14 countries and lived in Taiwan for five years, where she taught ESL and history while picking up Mandarin Chinese (and a bit of German from her family!).
Passionate about blending history, culture, and technology in the classroom, Kat loves creating engaging learning experiences. She knows firsthand the challenges of living in a country with a new language and finds joy in helping students navigate English and U.S. culture. When she’s not teaching, you might find her playing strategic board games or swapping fascinating cultural stories with her students—because in her classroom, everyone learns from each other!
