NYC Global Center serves a diverse, foreign-born population for whom English is a second language. This institution strives to realize two primary goals:

Academic Director
Victor Lopez
With a Master’s in TESOL, a Bachelor’s in English Education, and certifications in BPSS TESOL and TEFL, Victor, our Academic Director, brings 18 years of international teaching experience from Japan, Argentina, and Mexico. His focus on technology-enhanced learning and innovative teaching methods sets him apart. Fluent in Spanish and proficient in Japanese, Victor is dedicated to guiding students and helping them thrive. His expertise and commitment are key to advancing NYC Global Center’s mission.
Program Director
Jake Lim
Jake, Program Director at NYC Global Center, holds a Master’s degree from Teachers College, Columbia University. With a strong background as an ESOL Instructor and Student Counselor, he is committed to offering personalized support and addressing the unique needs of each student. Jake’s expertise and leadership are key to fostering a supportive and effective learning environment at NYC Global Center.
Global ESL Educator
Belleza Sahir
Belleza, from Queens, NY, holds an MA in TESOL, a BA in Intercultural Studies, , and a TEFL Certificate. With four years of teaching experience in Indonesia and extensive travel across Asia, Europe, and Australia, Belleza brings a global perspective to her teaching at NYC Global Center. Fluent in Indonesian and with a love for learning languages such as Spanish, Chinese, and French, as well as a passion for exploring different cultures, Belleza is dedicated to helping students master American English and achieve their language goals.
Global ESL Educator
Kat Christensen
Kat, a Clifton Park native from upstate New York, has a passion for exploring history and culture. With a Bachelor’s degree in Asian Studies and History and TESL/TESOL certifications, she has taught ESL and history internationally, including five years in Taiwan. Kat speaks Mandarin Chinese and some German and enjoys integrating technology into her teaching. She values helping students adapt to life in the U.S. while learning as much from them as they do from her.
